Chemical Process Technology Centre
Chemical Process Technology Centre (CPTC) on Jurong Island provides pre- employment and in-employment training for all functions within the chemical and biomedical sciences industries. CPTC is very likely the first dedicated training facility in the world to contain a real-life chemical process plant on-site. CPTC is funded by the Singapore Economic Development Board and run by Petrofac Training Institute. Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences
The Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences (ICES) is a national research and development institute which supports chemical and process engineering companies by inventing the technology needed for plant operations and developing the necessary processes. ICES' facility on Jurong Island comprises a pilot plant and 28 research laboratories.
ChemGallery @ Jurong Island
ChemGallery @ Jurong Island is an interactive exhibition centre that showcases the chemical industries on Jurong Island. It was officially opened in 2002 and located in Oasis@Sakra, the amenity centre at the heart of Jurong island.
Objectives
- To increase public awareness of the importance of the chemical industry and its contributions to the Singapore economy.
- To showcase the petroleum, petrochemical, specialty chemicals and supporting industries.
- To showcase the marvels of chemistry in everyday life in terms of the products that the industry produces and its wide-ranging applications in our lives.
- To showcase the “Jurong Island Story – A World-Class Chemical Hub” and its success factors, and impress upon the public the importance of innovation and a “Dare to Dream and Dare to Do” attitude in the global race to attract investments.
- To showcase companies in the chemicals industry, their businesses and products.
- To showcase the careers and opportunities available in the chemicals industry, and promote the chemicals industry as a choice industry for employment.
- To showcase the Health, Environment, Safety and Security (HESS) measures and equipment used in the chemicals industry, so as to increase public awareness of the high level of safety practiced in the industry.
- To promote the message of Responsible Care and its practice in the chemicals industry. ChemGallery @ Jurong Island has tied up with the Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC) on its Responsible Care Education Outreach Programme.
- To provide an entertaining, educational and long-lasting experience for all levels of visitors.
What to Expect
With over 20 interactive exhibits on display, ChemGallery brings visitors on a voyage of discovery, from the origins of oil and gas to their transformations into valuable petrochemical and specialty chemical products. Enter our world of chemistry and be impressed by the wide applications of chemicals in our everyday life. Take your time to interact with the many exhibits as you watch the entertaining and educational videos and multimedia shows.

Chemicals Industry Responsible Care Education Outreach Programme
ChemGallery @ Jurong Island has tied up with the Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC) on its Responsible Care Education Outreach Programme. Under this programme, representatives from chemical companies who are committed to responsible care visit schools to raise awareness of Singapore’s chemicals industry. Students learn about the importance of the chemicals industry to Singapore's economy, and enjoy the opportunity to visit Jurong Island and ChemGallery @ Jurong Island.
Objectives
- To enhance students' and teachers' awareness and knowledge of chemicals.
- To enhance their understanding of chemical safety.
- To illustrate the usage of chemicals in their daily lives.
- To create an interest in chemistry amongst students.
- To create awareness of the prospects of working in the chemicals industry.
