An exciting place for R&D, CleanTech One welcomes all forward looking companies that see value in embracing sustainability.

CleanTech One

The 6-storey, 37,500-sqm CleanTech One is the first of 25 buildings to be constructed in CleanTech Park. Designed to demonstrate that environmental sustainability can also be economical, it provides over 25,000sqm of business park, office and laboratory space for the R&D and corporate activities of environmentally-conscious companies.

CleanTech One costs an estimated $87 million to build, and is equipped with its own 1MW fuel cell plant for renewable energy; and dehumidification chiller to attain a more comfortable working environment.

Clean Technology Adoption

Conceptualised as a living capsule, the CleanTech One is both efficient and sustainable. The project is designed to demonstrate that environmental sustainability can also be economical. Its design strategy intends to blend the buildings into the surrounding greenery. Smart and efficient features also seek to take full advantage of the existing natural resources.

CleanTech One is the first building in Singapore fully installed with energy-efficient LED lighting. Occupancy and sensor-controlled dimming and switching capabilities also ensure more efficient energy utilisation.

Solar panels are also installed on the rooftops to maximise energy output and reduce reliance on fossil fuel. At the same time, these are being used to testbed third-generation solar technologies, such as organic and printed PVs.

Reducing Heat Gain

The building's intelligent features include the minimum east-west facing façade to gain optimum solar orientation, and a naturally-ventilated atrium to further reduce heat gain.

Sky trellises floating between adjacent buildings forms the project's distinctive feature. The green canopies allow natural daylight into the buildings and provide shade to reduce ambient heat build-up on the building facade, which translates to cost savings in air-conditioning.
