Q1.4 Do I have to pay to register for Krypton membership?
A1.4 No, you do not need to pay to register for Krypton membership. The membership to make use of the services on Krypton is free for all JTC customers. You can also advertise your company's services or products online via e-Directory for free!

Q1.5 How do I terminate my company’s Krypton membership?
A1.5 There is no need for further action. You will not be able to login to Krypton once your JTC tenancy or lease is terminated, assigned or transferred to another party.

Q1.7 How do I check and set my PC settings to comply with Krypton’s Minimum Requirements?
A1.7 a) Operating System - Windows 2000 SP4 & above+
At Desktop, Right Click on My Computer > Properties
System Properties window will pop-up.
You can identify your Operating System from the General tab
b) Internet Browser - Internet Explorer Version 6.0 SP2 & above+
At Internet Explorer Browser, Click on Help > About Internet Explorer
You can identify the version of your IE from the first line.
+ Macintosh Operating System and Netscape are currently not supported by Krypton.
c) Screen Resolution of 1024 X 768
At Desktop, Right Click on an empty space > Properties > Settings tab > Adjust Screen Resolution
Make the necessary adjustments
This preferred resolution will ensure that all the Krypton webpages can be viewed properly on your computer.
d) Web pages should be set to refresh at every visit to the page
At Internet Explorer Browser, Click on Tools > Internet Options > General Tab
Under Temporary Internet Files portion, click on 'Settings'
Under 'Check for newer versions of stored pages:', Select “Every visit to the page”
This will ensure that the latest version of Krypton webpage will be reflected on your computer. Otherwise, drafts which have been previously saved and new announcements may not be retrievable and the pages may hang.
e) Clear PC Cache
At Internet Explorer Browser, Click on Tools > Internet Options > General Tab
Under Temporary Internet Files portion, perform Delete Cookies, Delete Files and Clear History
We encourage you to clear your computer's cache/ Temporary Internet Folders before and after visiting sites, such as Internet Banking Portals and Krypton, where private information such as credit card and/or personal information may have been keyed into the system.
f) Do not use a Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Ensure that you are not accessing Krypton via a Virtual Private Network (VPN)
g) Disable ALL anti pop-up programs
Anti pop-up programs may come bundled with programs such as Microsoft's Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2, Norton's Internet Security 2006, Yahoo Bar, Google Bar, etc.. All anti pop-up programs have to be disabled before you login to Krypton in order to view the date-picker and structured feedback pop-ups on Krypton’s online transactions. Here, we feature 2 of them.
Internet Explorer version 6 (Service Pack 2)
At Internet Explorer Browser,
Step 1: Click on Tools > Internet Options
Step 2: Click on Security Tab > Select ‘Internet’ > Click on ‘Custom Level’ button

Step 3: Scroll down and look for ‘Use Pop-up Blocker’ > Select ‘Disable’ > Click on ‘OK’

Step 4: Click on Privacy Tab > Check on ‘Block Pop-ups’ > Click on ‘Settings’ button

Step 5: In the ‘Address of Web site to allow’ field, key in http://krypton.jtc.gov.sg > Click on 'Add' button

Step 6: Once you see Krypton's URL in the Allowed sites > Click on 'Close'

Step 7: Click on ‘Apply’ button. Refresh by closing all browsers and launch a new window again.
Norton Internet Security
Step 1: Double-click on the icon at system tray to open up the program.

Step 2: Click on Norton Anti Spam > Pop-up Blocking > Turn Off

h) Set Display Mixed Content to Enable
You may not be able to view some secured items, for example e-Statement, if you do not perform these steps.
At Internet Explorer Browser,
Step 1: Click on Tools > Internet Options
Step 2: Click on Security Tab > Select ‘Internet’ > Click on ‘Custom Level’ button

Step 3: Scroll down and look for ‘Display Mixed Content’
Select ‘Enable or Prompt’ > Click on ‘OK’

If you chose 'Prompt' for the Display Mixed Content (as above), every time you login to Krypton, click on 'YES' when you are prompted with a Security Information.

i) Set Cookie handling to 'Always allow session cookies'
At Internet Explorer Browser,
Step 1: Click on Tools > Internet Options
Step 2: Click on Privacy Tab > Click on ‘Advanced’ button

Step 3: Check on ‘Override automatic cookie handling' and 'Always allow session cookies'
Click on 'OK'

j) Firewall
If you have installed a firewall, add the following URLs as Trusted Sites.

*.psi.gov.sg
k) Do not use a Proxy Server
At Internet Explorer Browser,
Step 1: Click on Tools > Internet Options
Step 2: Click on Connections Tab
Step 3: At either your Dial-up Settings or LAN Settings, uncheck "Use a proxy server..."

Q1.8 I encountered “EASY2” error message when I tried to login to Krypton. What does it mean?
A1.8 This means that you have not been nominated by your Company to access Krypton. Get your Authorised Person to login to the EASY website and grant you access to JTC e-Services first, before you login to Krypton.

Q1.9 How does JTC ensure the confidential and private information that I provide is secured?
A1.9 We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to provide security for Internet transactions. The SSL technology encrypts data transmitted on the Internet.

A1.10 For Microsoft Internet Explorer, you will see a padlock at the bottom right-hand corner of your browser.

A1.11 Currently, most browsers support SSL. However, it is advisable to use a higher version web browser like Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and above. These will definitely support SSL technology.

A1.12 At the Print box, click on 'Advanced' > Select 'Print as image' > Click on 'OK' to print

Internet Explorer 7 Users
Q1.14 I wanted to login to Krypton. After keying in my SingPass, the page hung and I was prompted with the error message "Error on page" at the bottom left-hand corner. How can I login successfully?
A1.14 You have to change a setting on the Internet Explorer 7 to enable Javascript.
- Click on Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab > Custom Level
- Enable "active scripting" and "Scripting of Java applets"
- Clear your PC's cache, restart the Internet Explorer browser and login to Krypton again

A2.1 SingPass stands for 'Singapore Personal Access'. It is an alphanumeric password of between 8 to 24 characters. It is your common password to transact with different Government online services.

Q2.2 How can I obtain a SingPass if I was not issued with one or have forgotten my SingPass?
A2.2 You can apply or reset your SingPass on the spot at any CPF Offices, Community Development Councils and selected Community Clubs with either your NRIC or FIN card and Passport.
You may also request for your SingPass to be posted to you via SingPass Online Request service.

Q2.4 What is EASY?
A2.4 EASY is short for e-Services Authorisation System. It is a self-service on-line update facility provided by the government as part of the e-Government initiative. This service enables you to have the flexibility and control over your staff who can access, update and perform e-transaction with the Government on your behalf. This means that you no longer need to write to the various government agencies to apply for change of authorisation access of your staff. You can also authorise a third party to perform e-transaction on your behalf. Similarly, appointed third parties can use this service to authorise their staff to transact on behalf of the clients.

Q2.8 Why does JTC adopt SingPass & EASY for its login authentication?
A2.8 It is government’s direction to minimize the number of user IDs and passwords for businesses and citizens in Singapore. All government agencies will eventually adopt SingPass and EASY as the means of login authentication. EASY is an administration system for Company’s Authorised Person to manage his staff’s access to transact with government agencies such as JTC, IRAS, MTI, MHA & ICA on behalf of his company. SingPass is the password used to verify the identity of the individual given the access via EASY.

Q2.10 Can I use EASY if my organisation or society does not need to register with ACRA and does not have an RCB number?
A2.10 Yes, you can still make use of EASY. If you do not need to register with ACRA, when you apply for your EASY access code to IRAS, they will issue you an ‘Assigned’ Number and Password. Please call JTC Contact Centre Hotline at 1800 5687000 to inform us about the 'Assigned' Number. Once we have updated this number in our system, you can then use the Assigned number to access both EASY and Krypton websites.

Q2.11 I think I’ve entered the EASY Access Code wrongly in for too many times and it seemed that I’ve been logged out of the system. Can JTC send me a new EASY Access Code?
A2.11 No, JTC will not be able to reissue the EASY access code to you as it is managed by IRAS. Please contact IRAS’s EASY Hotline directly at 1800 356 8015 to confirm the status of your access code. They will advise you to reapply for the access code if the password has been locked due to too many failed attempts. You will receive your access code within 6 working days from your application date.

A3.3 Whenever your e-Statement is ready for viewing online, you'll receive an email notification from us. For security, you have to login to Krypton before you can view or print out your e-Statement.

Q3.4 How do I sign up for e-Statement?
A3.4 All you need to do is :
- ensure that you are given the 'APPROVER' role in EASY for JTC e-Services
- login to Krypton
- select Statement of Accounts > e-Statement
- click on the 'Manage Preference' tab
- click on 'Edit' and add your email address
- choose the preference 'Softcopy Only (with email notification)'
- Click 'Save'

Q3.5 After signing up, how soon can I expect to be converted to receive e-Statement and stop receiving hardcopy statement?
A3.5 After signing up, you will receive an acknowledgement email for your change of preference settings, which means that you will stop receiving hardcopy statement from your next statement due. Please allow 3 working days for the changes to be activated.

A3.7 An email notification will be sent to the designated email address to notify you that your statement is available for viewing. To change your email address, click on the 'Manage Preference' tab, click on the 'Edit' button to edit your email address and click on 'Save'.

Q3.8 Can I claim my GST if I opt to receive e-Statements?
A3.8 Yes, if the preference is set to 'Softcopy Only' with or without email notification, there is a clause in the SA that says 'THIS STATEMENT SERVES AS A TAX INVOICE IF GST IS CHARGED'. You can print out the e-Statements for the purpose of claiming GST.

Q3.9 I have successfully logged in to Krypton but I could not find the 'Statement of Accounts' link on the left panel?
A3.9 In order to access e-Statement, you need to be given the 'Approver' role and not 'Preparer' role for JTC e-Services in EASY. Please ask your company's Authorised Person to verify and update your role in EASY accordingly.

A3.10 You may request your company's Authorised Person to grant you the 'Approver' role for JTC-Services in EASY. After which you can login to Krypton with your personal SingPass.

A3.11 Your company's Authorised Person, who is in charge of your company's EASY Access Code, can go to EASY to nominate multiple staff to perform Krypton roles. Each and every one of the nominated staff will be able to login to Krypton with their individual SingPass.
