Entering Jurong Island – Do’s and Don’ts

Remember:  The whole Jurong Island is designated as a Protected Area and access to any premise is by authorisation/permission only.

  1. Ensure that you have a valid JI Pass before entering Jurong Island or you will not be allowed to enter.
  2. Ensure you have enrolled your biometrics successfully at the Pass Office before proceeding for clearance at the checkpoint.
  3. Download the Jurong Island Pass app on your mobile phone. Readily retrieve and show your digital pass to any authorised officers where necessary.
  4. Provide your personal or employee identification cards to the authorised officer for inspection when requested by any authorised officer.
  5. If you are entering via self-drive, do carry out regular ‘housekeeping’ of your vehicle and remove unnecessary items especially in the vehicle’s boot, to speed up the clearance process.
  6. Slow down your vehicle when approaching the vehicular lanes and use the appropriate lane assigned to your vehicle type.
  7. Obey instructions and directions of authorised officers manning the traffic junction. Your vehicle may be redirected to alternative clearance lanes to alleviate traffic congestion.
  8. Stop your vehicle when directed, cooperate with the authorised officer, and open your vehicle boot for inspection at the lanes. Allow your belongings to be checked by the authorised officer and proceed orderly to where your company’s transport is parked. Allow the authorised officer to search the interior of your vehicle including the glove compartment and under the seats.
  9. Declare any camera, photographic or video recording equipment, including drones, in your possession and the corresponding approvals for inspection.
  10. If you are clearing at the PDL arrival halls, proceed to the turnstiles after alighting to clear via your biometrics. Get ready to retrieve your dynamic QR code via your mobile application and present it when necessary.
  11. Keep a lookout for and report immediately any suspicious persons, incidents or unattended parcels/items including vehicles, to the nearest security personnel, or by calling the police at 999 or the Jurong Island Operation Centre (JIOC) hotline at 62681020.
  1. Do not drive up onto Jurong Pier Flyover when intending to visit the Jurong Island Pass Office as you will enter straight into the checkpoint from the flyover and unable to turn left to the Pass Office. You will be denied entry and be turned away. Take Jurong Pier Road on the left lane beside the flyover instead.
  2. Do not use screenshot of your digital pass or dynamic QR code. The digital pass or dynamic QR code must be retrieved directly via the Jurong Island Pass app when requested.
  3. Do not use or attempt to use altered screenshots of another person’s digital pass or dynamic QR code. Additionally, do not allow another person to use altered screenshots of your digital pass or dynamic QR code to gain access into Jurong Island.
  4. Do not carry or have in your possession any of the following:
  • Weapons, firearms, and any other objects resembling a weapon or firearm e.g. toy replica gun or swords
  • Explosives, or incendiaries including timers, detonators, detonating cords, kerosene, firecrackers, etc.
  • Sharp or pointed objects/dangerous items which can be used as weapons - knives, corkscrews, paper cutters, metal emery boards (nail polishers), box cutters, metal letter openers etc
  • Blunt or large objects/items which can be used as weapons – baseball bats, cricket bats, golf clubs, truncheons, hockey sticks etc, unless justified to do so
  • E-cigarettes, vape products, contraband cigarettes, or any other illegal or duty-unpaid tobacco products.
  • Unauthorised drones (unmanned aerial vehicles)
  1. Do not engage in any photograph-taking or video-filming without official authorisation from JTC Corporation.
  2. Do not leave your vehicle, personal or company’s belonging unattended along any public road or thoroughfare on the island.
  3. Do not stray into areas that you are not authorised to access.
  4. Do not engage in any fishing, swimming and other unauthorised activities along the coast, waterways, canals, etc within the island.
  5. Do not drive your vehicle over the speed limit while commuting within the island.
  6. Do not ignore or attempt to run away when requested or ordered to stop by an authorised officer.

Managing JI Pass

Your pass will be automatically deactivated if there is no recorded entry into Jurong Island for:

  • More than 30 days for foreigners using FIN or passport numbers, or
  • More than 90 days for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents

Please contact your sponsor to request reactivation of your pass before your next entry into Jurong Island. This will help avoid being turned away at the checkpoint.
