ChefGenie, Singapore’s first AI-powered automated kitchen solution, is setting the stage for a new era of food innovation.

Supported by EnterpriseSG, ChefGenie will be embarking on a 6-month F&B autonomous kitchen pilot around Singapore with local F&B brands. The pilot aims to trial autonomous kitchens as a manpower-lean format of expansion for F&B companies, and increase consumer receptivity towards these concepts.

This pilot programme will be launched on 9 September 2025, at Punggol Digital District (PDD) by Guest of Honour Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, and Culture, Community, and Youth. PDD is a testbed for smart solutions spanning JTC’s business park, the Singapore Institute of Technology, Punggol Coast Mall, public transport nodes and community amenities, enabling a diverse community to try ChefGenie’s offerings.

Bringing World Flavours to Life with Precision and Consistent Quality

Showcasing a World of Flavours through Singapore’s first autonomous international food fair, the event features eight homegrown brands including Warong Pak Sapari (MICHELIN Bib Gourmand), Springleaf Prata (MICHELIN recommended), Eat Pizza, Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks, Takagi Ramen, Tuk Tuk Cha, The Hainan Story, and Instachef.

From hand-pulled prata to slow-brewed laksa broth, delicate Japanese ramen to crispy Taiwanese street snacks, the diversity and complexity of these dishes are made possible through ChefGenie’s proprietary smart cooking technology. The system is designed to replicate sophisticated cooking methods with precision, ensuring that each meal is prepared fresh and of restaurant quality.

From Pilot Success to Scalable Solutions for the F&B Industry

Aikit, the company behind ChefGenie, identified broader industry gaps of poor food quality and low customer engagement, with traditional options relying on microwaved frozen meals and outdated technology; leading to the development of ChefGenie — an AI-powered smart kitchen, capable of cooking globally inspired dishes around the clock. Designed to empower restaurants and foodservice operators with scalable, cost-efficient solutions, ChefGenie provides AI-driven kitchen capabilities with the aim of alleviating manpower constraints, lowering operational costs, and building a more resilient, future-ready F&B ecosystem. It is a Singapore-grown blueprint for how food and technology can work together to serve better, smarter, and further.

Powered by its proprietary AI-kitchen technology, ChefGenie ensures consistency, precision and reliability, efficiently preparing each meal to order in just minutes. By combining culinary authenticity with automation, ChefGenie makes it possible to deliver richly layered, freshly cooked meals around the clock without compromising on flavour and texture.

More than just an automated kitchen, ChefGenie’s smart technology supports end-to-end efficiency by automating key backend processes such as stock tracking, ingredient replenishment, and data analysis. Its AI capabilities also allow for demand forecasting, popular item suggestions, and real-time menu adjustments based on consumer trends. A scalable solution designed to transform how local F&B businesses cook, serve, and grow, it addresses critical industry challenges such as manpower shortages, rising operational costs, and quality consistency.

“Autonomous kitchens are one way for F&B operators to develop new business models through the use of AI and technology. This pilot is also a good showcase of how brands can collaborate and collectively open new channels for growth. Enterprise Singapore will continue to support innovative formats like ChefGenie, to help local brands scale efficiently by leveraging automation, and remain relevant and competitive in today’s landscape,” said Jason Lim, Director, Food Services & Heartland Enterprises, Enterprise Singapore.

“At Aikit, we believe in building technology that solves real problems for everyday people and businesses. The success of InstaChef showed us how automation could improve food accessibility and address manpower challenges meaningfully.” Said Sky Goh, VP Business and Operations of Aikit Pte Ltd. “ChefGenie is the natural next step, an evolution of that vision into a future-ready platform that supports local enterprises, uplifts communities and delivers hot, quality meals at the touch of a button. We are happy to have launched in Punggol Digital District which is the best place to showcase how smart solutions can improve quality of life and look forward to sharing food from our local brands with the rest of Singapore.”
