Aerial Reality Capture
(Quality and defect inspection)
Drone-based close-range capture for high-resolution building element inspection and defect management.
What JTC is looking for
JTC is seeking aerial reality capture solutions that use drone-based close-range, high-resolution imaging to inspect specific building elements, such as façades, roofs, and building envelopes, including areas that are elevated or hard to access. Solutions should support defect identification and classification, and be backed by an effective issue management system that tracks each defect from logging through assignment to resolution.
How can I apply?
What happens if I am shortlisted?
Shortlisted vendors will be invited to demonstrate their platform's capabilities to JTC. Your self-assessment responses will also be validated during this demonstration.
20 minutes - Demonstration
- Function. Demonstrate how your platform supports contractor workflows, illustrated with realistic use cases such as:
- Close-range, high-resolution capture of façades, roofs, and building envelopes
- Defect identification and classification, such as cracks, spalling, or water ingress
- Logging, assigning, and tracking defects through to resolution
- Coverage of elevated or hard-to-access building elements
- How users capture, access, and act on defect data within your platform
- Integration. Show how your platform aggregates and presents data based on our requirements in the self-assessment checklist. Demonstrate visualisation and issue management capabilities for different user roles (for example, project manager, quality inspector, facilities team).
10 minutes - Q&A.
- Questions from the JTC evaluation team.
Preparation tips
- Bring a live or prepared demonstration environment with example close-range aerial footage of building elements.
- Clearly show the capture-to-resolution workflow, from defect capture through classification to close-out.
- Be ready to discuss compatibility with our Connected Data Environment (OPTIMUS) and how your defect management system scales across multiple concurrent projects.
What happens after the demonstration?
After the demonstration, JTC will notify you through email of the outcome and any follow-up actions or timelines.
Successful applicants receive official IDDTA certification, which recognises your solution's compliance with JTC's digital requirements and integration standards with JTC's Connected Data Environment.
This credential strengthens your reputation as a trusted technology partner, and your solution will be listed on JTC's website.
